'My Beautiful Face': 9pm, Thurs 29th October 2009, Channel 4

A Mentorn Media Production, for Channel 4's flagship series 'Cutting Edge':
'My Beautiful Face' is a Mentorn Film Production which will be screened on Channel 4's 'Cutting Edge' series tomorrow night at 9pm. The programme is a 60-minute documentary detailing the last 18 months in the life of burns victim, Katie Piper.

Katie, a successful model and TV presenter, was attacked last year with acid and was left horrendously burnt, scarred, unable to eat and blind in one eye. The attack, which saw the corrosive liquid burn through all 4 layers of Ms Piper's skin, was planned by her steroid-fueled, obsessed ex-boyfriend following their breakup.

I, Mohammad Jawad, became involved in the treatment of Katie from a very early stage and over the course of approximately 18 months have led a large series of surgical operations to reconstruct the severely damaged areas of her face and body. The techniques that I used have been commended as revolutionary within the field of burns reconstruction and I have been very pleased with the results achieved.

From a personal point of view, I am extremely proud to have been involved in the case of Katie Piper and am pleased to have formed a great bond with Katie and her family over the last year and a half. She is a very brave, inspirational young lady who has been through the most traumatic of ordeals.

Please take the time to view 'My Beautiful Face' on Channel 4 tomorrow night at 9pm to learn more about Katie's amazing story and the work that I have lead with the support of a great team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London. Finally, I would like to thank the team at Mentorn Media and Channel 4 in making this documentary and allowing this emotional story to be heard.
