Jawad Performs Life-Changing, Extreme Surgery

Seven years ago, Jennie Rawlins, from Caithness in Scotland, was given a chilling warning by her doctor: lose weight, or die young. At the time, Jennie weighed 44 stone, and was struggling with simple movement such as getting off the sofa and using the stairs, and her social life had become non-existent.

In 2003, Jennie underwent a gastric bypass operation that effectively stapled her stomach and changed her body’s natural responses to food intake. The surgery was so risky that the NHS would not fund it, so Jennie and her husband were forced to re-mortgage their home to pay the £11,000 surgical fee.

The results were dramatic. Jennie lost 21 stone—almost half her body weight, and the outcome gave her a much needed psychological boost, but unfortunately she was left with a sizeable fold of skin on her abdomen. The removal of this excess skin required further surgery, but Jennie was determined to take the next step, and in Mohammad Jawad, she found the perfect surgeon to guide her through the process.

It is going to be the biggest nightmare in healthcare in modern times.”

Thanks to Mr Jawad, however, Jennie’s nightmare is now behind her. She now has two children and is a weight loss consultant, helping parents and children devise healthy eating plans.
