The woman who was disfigured in an acid attack courtesy of a vicious ex-boyfriend looks fabulous in a photoshoot in today’s Reveal.Katie, 27, has recovered after a traumatising 50 operations and is relentlessly upbeat. She was blinded in one eye after sulphuric acid was thrown in her face one day in March 2008. The scar tissue around her mouth became so tight she had to be fed by tube.
The two men who colluded to attack her have been jailed.
‘Before the incident I was wrapped up in how I looked. Now I have a richer life. I never look back and think: “what if?” My face is quirkier now. You don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.’
