More about the Surgery

Inverted nipple correction surgery is usually performed under local anaesthetic, and takes around 30 – 45 minutes. In most cases of nipple correction, surgeon Mohammad Jawad will identify the tissue that is causing the nipple to retract and carefully divide it to release the inverted nipple to a normal position. The small incision on the side of the nipple area is then gently stitched so that the nipple sets in the corrected position. It is a scarless surgery.

After Your Procedure

Following your inverted nipple correction surgery, please note that the nipples are likely to be tender, and there is a possibility that you could have some bruising or swelling, which is quite normal and nothing to be concerned about. You will need some analgesia to keep the nipples dry and clean. If you encounter any pain, or become very uncomfortable after your treatment, prescription medication can be prescribed as and when needed.

After nipple correction surgery, Mr Jawad will apply a light dressing which must be kept dry for around two weeks, after which time it will be removed, and the area will be cleaned and checked.

  • Shower or bathe the body after 48 hours, covering the wound site.
  • 3 – 5 days of discomfort, but fully functional.
  • Socialising with friends & family with the use of analgesia
  • Change of dressing after 3 – 5 days
